Thanks, Giving Back… get it?

A lot of people were really upset we weren’t doing the Paradise Casino event for our charity The Paradise Fund this Thanksgiving. I wasn’t upset though. It takes a ton of work to plan that event. It was nice to finally have it back.

I still wanted to do something interesting and a friend told me about the Big Heart Brigade, an organization that distributes 75,000 meals each Thanksgiving.  I recruited my fellow Paradise co-founders, Loy and Chris, and flew out to Pahokee.

Why did we fly out there when it’s only a one hour drive? Because it makes for a much more awesome adventure. We wouldn’t have hitchhiked. We wouldn’t have connected with the other volunteers. And we definitely wouldn’t have gotten the great aerial views of central Florida.

For me, this was an opportunity to see something completely different and share Thanksgiving with our neighbors who aren’t as fortunate. This Thanksgiving I was truly thankful for all the little things that I usually overlook.
